Duck Print

I have been looking for this print for years. Do you hear me, years. I bought this print or maybe something very similar for ten cents when I was in the 3rd grade. I ran up on it in a flea market when we went to Hattiesburg MS to visit my son. But it was sixty five dollars!! And with the way things are now days, I just could not make myself buy it. In the old days, that is before the economic turn down, I would not have hesitated, but now I try to show more restraint.
I bought two prints that year, one with kittens playing with hats and pearls and this one, because Mama said it reminded her of daddy, since he loved to duck hunt and trained bird dogs. I still have the one with the kittens and it is framed and now hangs in the powder room.
Since I couldn't buy it, I did the next best thing, I took a picture and maybe I can crop it and maybe make a small print or something.
I am on a quest to buy back my childhood one piece at at time.
What would yawl have done? Would you have bought it?

Oh that's hard. But 65.00 is a lot. I likely would have done what you did.

Last year we saw a print we loved, too. It was $95. Up here, they do not allow photos in most places. We decided it was too much. All week long we thought about the print and went back and bought it the following weekend.

We are frugal Yankees but we decided this summer scene would brighten our winter days. It does!

What would you do without to pay for this print? I think you could eat yogurt at lunch, skip a cosmetic or two and find other ways to justify the cost...if you LOVE it.

Questions we always ask and all three have to be yes!

1. Do you want it?

2. Do you love it?

3. Do you need it?

I don't know if I would have bought it, Anglemc. Let's see, it is a print. What size is it? Around here, one can buy a decent original, small, for $65. But if it is a good print and of a good size, I think I would have bought it. But then, I am the last of the red hot spenders. That's not the right term, but you know what I mean.

I would be the last one to tell anyone NOT to buy something, but if it's a print, I'll bet you could find it online much cheaper and then frame it yourself. Of course it would all be NEW, but it's easy to age paper and a frame just needs a little sandpapering. OR--go back and buy it and be done with it.
