Draws

Last Friday I was doing Avery's hair and make-up for her dance recital.  I was loving on her and I said....
Nonna loves yo dirty draws. (Copped from my black friends at work)
And she said...what is draws?
And I said...you know drawers...
And she said ...what is drawers?
And I said...panties...
And she gave me a look.
The next day my son-in-law said...why is Avery telling everybody you love her panties?
And I said...it's a long story...just don't mention it to DHS....

ah yes...."awwl my chirrenz"....that's what we say around here...hehe
when my son was a toddler and potty trained-he'd call his undies "boy panties"....lol...he started that when underoos came out, and he had a set for every day of the week. he'd wear his t-shirt and matching boy-panties as his outfits for the day so every one could see he was superman or batman or..whoever that day. very very hard to get him to put actual shorts or jeans on to wear out in public! "nobody can see my boy-panties if i put on jeans!"...

and i've seen those bloomers back in the day...must have been the '70's when my mama and sister wore them :D have you ever seen those pink satin striped cotton bloomers and tank tops from further back in the day? my grandma wore them. my sister took the drawers to college(perk and usm) to throw out the window for pantie-raids!

So cute! My Gramma used to refer to them as "draws" too!

Sometimes I think there is some black heritage somewhere in my family! LOL!
